Transporting Puppies Interstate

Safe, stress-free travel to people across Australia

Groodles Australia is based in south-east Queensland, but we help people across Australia welcome our puppies into their homes.

We work with trusted, specialised pet transport companies to ensure your puppy travels safely and comfortably to northern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory, and the ACT.

Is travel stressful for puppies?

At eight weeks old, puppies handle travel surprisingly well. They typically sleep through most of the journey, and specialised pet couriers are experienced in keeping puppies calm and comfortable. Your puppy will travel in an airline-approved crate with a comfort blanket, and the entire process — from our Champion Family’s home to you — is designed to be as gentle as possible.

How it works

We’re here to help you arrange transport services, and we’re happy to recommend trusted providers. We’ve organised a special relationship with Departure Pets to offer our customers a discount on their services — get in touch with us for details.

Your puppy will be fully vet-checked within a week of travel and will come with a ‘fit to fly’ certificate confirming they’re healthy and ready for the journey. We’ll ensure all relevant paperwork — including health certificates and vaccination records — is posted to your address ahead of time so nothing gets lost during transport.

What to expect

  • Journey time is usually 4–8 hours door-to-door, including airport wait times
  • Puppies must be at least 8 weeks old to travel (which is when they come home to you anyway)
  • Please note, airlines have temperature restrictions and won’t fly if conditions are too hot or cold

Many new owners also enjoy making the trip to Queensland to collect their puppy in person.
